Someone once told me that it is good to start from blank and that blank is a solid foundation for something new and good. One has to observe their environment to see if something could live on and be put on paper. The other beginning is a motive, a thought based on which one selects things to depict in the environment. It is, however, difficult to solve problems if neither of the above-mentioned methods is successful. Perhaps blank is not the starting point, instead it is the destination. Or it just is.

I have created watercolor paintings for the exhibition. The works form a series and a story that does not proceed in chronological order. The paintings can be divided into three parts based on their themes. The first part is blank. It is hard to say anything else about it. There are pictures but they are blank. Their existence is not supported by a feeling, knowledge or anything else. The second part is formed by dark and dim spaces, cellars and caves. These places are real and they are emotional and serious by nature. The third one is a vague memory and knowledge. They are open and bright situations where one can wait, calm down and take a breather.

These parts are repeated between two points, after which everything starts all over again. If one knows that in advance, they do not need to be surprised.
