Join Collective Recording Galleria Huuto, a 2-hour workshop led by UK artist James Thompson, currently in residence at HIAP. The session explores Huuto’s history and its present home in Kalasatama.
We will begin by tracing the stories, memories, and spatial transformations of the locations Huuto has inhabited since 2002. You will then be introduced to site-responsive recording processes, including architectural frottage and press moulding with air-drying clay, to create a temporary sculptural intervention that documents Huuto’s present and imagines a speculative future.
After the workshop, participants can take their recordings home as mementos and fragments of a shared archive.
