Art Couture Clothing Store

The Art Couture clothing store will sell clothes and other everyday objects created by artists. The group includes sculptors, performing artists, painters, graphic designers and even one fashion designer who has also worked as a visual arts curator.
The Art Couture store is an attempt to bring art closer to people’s everyday life. We want to remind everyone that there is art in our lives; we just have to see it. We want to introduce the more worldly side of art, how it is bought and sold despite its spiritual nature and we want to remove it from the frames where it is sometimes forgotten. Our aim is not to become designers, but rather to show examples of how art can exist in our lives and offer artists alternative ways to use their talent.
The exhibition space will be turned into a clothing store with a mirror and a dressing room. In addition, we will show 2 or 3 related videos. The aim is to sell at least some of the products at such a price that they could actually be seen on the street. The store will offer many unique pieces, but also more accessible clothes and other items.
The store will feature wearable sculptures, striking evening dresses, performance costumes, everyday performances and also skateboards.
The Art Couture project consists of works by 24 artists. Huuto artist Kaarina Ormio has developed the idea behind the project and gathered together the artists. Some of them are Huuto members, while others are non-members. In February, Art Couture will travel to the Supermarket Art Fair in Stockholm.

Welcome to the Art Couture Fashion Show on Sunday 5 January at 3 pm!
The show will be choreographed by Favela Vera Ortiz with the artists and their friends acting as models. No entrance fee. Duration half an hour.
