I’m Thinking of You is an exhibition project based on a reciprocal artistic exchange between Poland and Finland. Polish artists representing Galeria Pracownia Wschodnia will travel to Finland to present works that engage with Finnish life and culture, while artists affiliated with Galleria Huuto will visit Poland next February to showcase pieces exploring Polish life and society.
The project invites participants to move beyond stereotypes and consider what it means to truly encounter the life of the ’other’. Even when we grasp fragments of history or carry deep-seated cultural images, much remains unfamiliar. The exhibition focuses on micro-histories — small, personal narratives that rarely surface in textbooks but can be intimately explored through artistic practice.
We are driven by curiosity, inquiry, and the myths we carry about one another. The exhibition aims to serve as a starting point for dialogue: discovering shared symbols, reflecting on misunderstandings, and occasionally laughing at our own assumptions. At its core, I’m Thinking of You is about seeing ourselves through the eyes of the other — a process of dismantling preconceptions and learning about ourselves from a slightly more distant, trans-Baltic perspective
