Where is the cradle of light-heartedness? Is it in childhood or adulthood, in the past or in the future or in one’s hopes and dreams?

When I am working on my sculptures I am happy. I am in love with the process. I am in love with the chaos! Welcome to my love, welcome to my cradle of light-heartedness!

I am a sculptor from the Finnish Lapland. I graduated from the Lahti University of Applied Sciences Institute of Design and Fine Arts in 2010. My sculptures are often based on my subjective experiences of the world. They often deal with fear, childhood, loneliness and emptiness, for which the rugged beauty of Lapland offers an excellent setting.

I work very intensively and rely on my instincts. The thoughts that I am trying to capture evolve simultaneously with the sculpture.

The works included in the Cradle of Light-heartedness exhibition are rather gloomy as they reflect the darkness of the past winter in Lapland.
