stone soul paper

stone soul paper
26 June – 19 July 2020

The adhesive has dried on the fingers and the ink on the brush.
There are blotches on the paper.
Little souls. A lot of light colors around.

Something about stone and bricks.
Very angular, the rather straight edges are almost sharp. The roughness and dust to which the wet paper will not stick. The stone barely matches something else. On the other hand, the robustness…

Nothing more to say about the paper. It knows. It needs to be in the background, give room.

The brain has been allowed to rest and the souls to wander.
The forehead has leaned against the cool stone and arms have hung limply.

stone soul paper is an exhibition or an installation. A dialogue between space, paper, very few drawings and stone material. The eyes have wandered along the material, thoughts drifting away.

Nikki Jääskeläinen (b. 1981) is a Helsinki-based artist who mainly works with drawings and everyday materials as well as space and time.
