LA SALA NARANJA

THE IMMATERIAL BODY

Viiskulma 5.3.-16.3.2008

Valencialainen taiteilijayhteisö La Sala Naranja esittää jälleen nykytaidetta Galleria Huudossa. Kokonaisuus nimeltä ”The Immaterial Body” (”Aineeton ruumis”) on nähtävillä 4.–16.3.2008 Huudon molemmissa gallerioissa Helsingissä, Uudenmaankatu 35 ja Laivurinkatu 43.

La Sala Naranja, an Artists Collective from Valencia, presents another showcase of contemporary art in Galleria Huuto. The show called The Immaterial Body will open the 4.3.2008 and will close the 16.3.2008. It will display in both Huuto spaces contemporarily: Uudenmaankatu 35 and Laivurinkatu 43, Helsinki.

It is part of an exchange between Galleria Huuto and La Sala Naranja. It is organized by NAMASTIC Art Collective, Helsinki, in collaboration with the two galleries.

Toni Calderón, the curator of La Sala Naranja, writes: Our proposal is about the Dematerialization of the Body. In many of the artworks shown here The Body loses its specificity to step into the creation of what is denominated Homo Digitalis. The artists involved have been working with the absence of a physical body, playing with technology as a tool to reach something beyond the Human, the Mental Projection of a Digital Self.

La Sala Naranja outlines proposals working with a plurality of artists. The long experience of its members in organizing events is based on flexibility, open-mindedness and acumen.
