Call for exhibitions at Galleria Huuto for 2027 is now open, closing date June 28, 2026 at 23.59 pm.
From the beginning of November 2026 Galleria Huuto is located in Ruoholahti, Itämerentalo, Tammasaarenlaituri 3, next to Cable Factory. The Gallery is located close to Ruoholahti metro station and the tram line number 8. Itämerentalo was built in 1971 and designed by Einari Teräsvirta. The gallery is in the 4th floor with a sea view. The floor is concrete and the ceilings are over 3 m high. More info about the building and location here
The gallery has four exhibition spaces:
Huuto I, Huuto II, Huuto III: three different spaces varying in size, with 90-100 m2
Huuto IV: also especially for video projections etc, 60-70 m2. This space is possible to darken.
Exhibition duration is four weeks, and includes the time for building and mounting.
Exhibition fees are at the moment: Huuto I: 900 €, Huuto II: 900 €, Huuto III: 900 €, Huuto IV: 750 €. The fees are at cost price and hence subject to change. In the long run, we try to reduce the exhibition fees, but it depends on our longtime funding.
All fees include electrical advertising according to Huuto’s practice, help with lightning, and supervising the exhibition on weekdays. The exhibiting artist takes part in supervising the exhibition on weekends together with the other exhibiting artists. The fee for Huuto IV also includes a video projector, speakers (or headphones) and a media player.
Huuto takes care of selling the artworks but doesn’t take a commission of the sold works.
To apply for an exhibition space, please send us an application beginning with
– your name, e-mail address, telephone number and postal address
– possible home page
– what will be on show, in short (e.g. tree sculptures of animals)
– which times suit you – mention if you for instance will be in a residency
– which space you prefer, and which spaces would also be suitable
In addition, please write a compact plan for the exhibition (max 1 page), and add max 5 pictures and a one page CV.

Note! The ending in our email addresses is fi, not net, please don’t send your application to our old address. After sending the application, please check that you receive a confirmation mail.
For larger files you can also send a link to for example Dropbox, where the application is recommended to be as one PDF file. We accept proposals written in Finnish or English.
The selection panel, consisting of Huuto members and renewed every round, makes the final decisions looking at the exhibition programme as a whole. With a versatile program we try to show different artistic approaches, techniques and artists.
All applicants will be notified about the decisions as soon as they are made, in the beginning of August 2026. Please make sure to check your spam folder regularly as some mail addresses have been classified as spam.
Galleria Huuto
Galleria Huuto is an artist run space for art in Helsinki. The gallery is dependent on the volunteer work of the Huuto artist members. Galleria Huuto has operated since 2002 in Viiskulma, on Uudenmaankatu, in Makasiini L3 in Jätkäsaari, in Kalevankatu 43/Eerikinkatu 36, in Kalasatama and since November 2026 in Itämerentalo in Ruoholahti. Galleria Huuto hosts about 50 exhibitions annually. Huuto has also realised projects, events and visiting exhibitions outside it´s gallery spaces.
