Call for exhibitions at Galleria Huuto for year 2024 is now open, closing date June 4, 2023 at 23.59 PM.
Galleria Huuto is located in Kalasatama, Helsinki, in the address Panimokatu 1.
The gallery has four exhibition spaces:
– Huuto I, Huuto II, Huuto III, three different spaces varying in size, with 73-135 m2
– Huuto IV, also especially for video projections etc, 32,5 m2. This space is possible to darken.
Exhibition duration is four weeks, and includes the time for building and mounting.
Exhibition fees are at the moment: Huuto I: 800 €, Huuto II: 700 €, Huuto III: 900 €, Huuto IV: 500 €. The fees are at cost price and hence subject to change. In the long run, we try to reduce the exhibition fees, but it depends on our long time funding.
All fees include email invitations, Huuto newsletter and social media advertising and supervising the exhibition on weekdays. The exhibiting artist takes part in supervising the exhibition on weekends together with the other exhibiting artists. The gallery does not charge any commission on sold works. The fee for Huuto IV also includes a video projector, speakers (or headphones) and a media player.
To apply for an exhibition space, please send us an application beginning with
– your name, e-mail address, telephone number and postal address
– home page
– what will be on show, in short (e.g. tree sculptures of animals)
– which times suit you – mention if you for instance will be in a residency
– which space you prefer, and which spaces would also be suitable
In addition, please write a plan for the exhibition, and add 5-10 pictures and a short CV.

For larger files you can also send a link to for example Dropbox, where the application is recommended to be as one PDF file.
We accept proposals written in Finnish or English.
The selection panel, consisting of Huuto members and is renewed every year, makes the final decisions looking at the exhibition programme as a whole.
All applicants will be notified about the decisions as soon as they are made, latest by the end of June 2023. Please make sure to check your spam folder regularly as some mail addresses have been classified as spam.

Galleria Huuto
Galleria Huuto is an artist run space for art. The gallery is dependent on the volunteer work of the Huuto artist members. The gallery opened a space in Viiskulma in 2002 which was followed by another space on Uudenmaankatu in 2005, both in the city centre of Helsinki. In 2013 Huuto opened a bigger space in Makasiini L3 in Jätkäsaari and closed down the Viiskulma gallery. In May 2018 the Jätkäsaari gallery was closed down, and in August 2018 Huuto renovated and opened new spaces at Eerikinkatu 36/ Kalevankatu 43.
In March 2023 we renovated again new spaces to Kalasatama.
Galleria Huuto hosts about 50 exhibitions annually. Huuto has also realised projects, events and visiting exhibitions outside it´s gallery spaces.
