Onni Alanko
A Volatile View
24 July–17 August 2025

Onni Alanko’s exhibition “A Volatile View” explores the transformation of urban space and its visual representation through painting.

What does an urban space look like when viewed as layers of memories, observations and perceptions? Onni Alanko’s solo exhibition “A Volatile View” at Galleria Huuto examines this question through oil paintings.

The works on display are based on the artist’s observations and spatial experiences of the urban environment and its constantly changing structures.

Alanko’s paintings, which fall somewhere between abstract and representational, invite the viewer to stay in the lingering, undefined spaces. In his works, the cityscape is built and broken down into views where colors and shapes intertwine.

Onni Alanko (b. 1992) is a Helsinki-based artist. He graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree, specializing in painting, from Uniarts Helsinki’s Academy of Fine Arts in 2024. The exhibition at Galleria Huuto is Alanko’s third solo exhibition.

Thank you
The artist’s work has been supported by the Finnish Art Society and Paulo Foundation.
