Je suis la mort
24 June–17 July 2022

Meet the artist on Midsummer Saturday 25 June or Sunday 26 June at 12-5 pm.

In recent years, I have mainly used acrylics to paint on canvas stretched over a wooden frame and created ink pen drawings on paper. I feel that these techniques complement each other in an interesting manner: the change in scale from large to small, the change in depth or spatial expression and the shift from colorful to black and white.

I actively follow social issues, especially the flaws that could even be called struc-tural violence if the structures generate malaise instead of well-being. On a smaller scale, violence between people and absolute evil indirectly also provide themes for my works.

In addition to social themes, my works deal with the tensions in relationships, the temporary nature and fragility of life, death, love and hatred. Like surrealists, the dark suppressed side of the human mind emerging from the subconscious as well as dreams interest me and indirectly offer themes for my works.
