This moving installation is composed of one body and the associations it produces. The body is in a state of metamorphosis and it suggests different things: it is a human, an animal, an unknown creature, it is each of us because we all have a body. It is familiar, strange, and a living question mark in a dialogue with itself.
Favela Vera Ortiz is a Finnish-Argentinian choreographer whose works include both stage works, work in the gallery context and site-specific works. She has also created video works and installations in collaboration with visual artists. www.iki.fi/fvo
First version of this performance was presented on stage in February 2023 at the New Theatre Helsinki Festival. This new version is a moving installation, durational performance for 60 minutes. The audience are welcome to stay as long as they like during this time.
2nd Skins is the latest part of serie of moving installations, which started in 2021 with bodyscapes at ART108 exhibition in Nokia. The works have been presented in galleries and museums.
The performance is part of the Art Fair Suomi Goes Galleries program.
